Paipái
papaya | pah-ˈpī-yah
A tropical American tree having an oblong to globose yellow edible fruit with numerous black seeds in a central cavity. Paipái means "papaya" in Lingala.
While mangoes were introduced to South Africa in the mid-17th century, the delicious treat has had a long and rich history far beyond our imagination. From being used as a currency by traders and merchants to its leaves being used for wedding decorations, this mouth-watering stone fruit has marked its place as one of the most important and most beloved food items in the world. This candle is a love letter to mangoes and is sure to create a sweet summer breeze, evocative of the South African coast, from which it is now native. Wax is hand-poured into a white vessel and is topped off with a dust cover.
